A rise in deaths due to the use of sexual stimulant drugs without medical advice has been observed, according to Mrs. Iresha Deshani Samaraweera, a lawyer who is the coroner of the Colombo National Hospital. The people of the categories 20-25 & 40-45 are more focused on this situation.
She points out that many young people had used these sexual stimulant drugs for experimentation.
Meanwhile, there is a tendency for school-age girls and young women to turn to ice drugs, says Mrs. Lakmi Nilanka, assistant guide of the Dangerous Drugs Regulatory Commission.
The beauty salons have received information about the events that motivated them to do so. According to statistics, Kurunegala district has been identified as an area where the use of ice drugs is high.
Minister Susil Pramanth says that a special program will be prepared to protect school children from illegal activities in the society.
Accordingly, one teacher will be selected from each school and the program will be implemented. A related workshop is already being implemented based on Colombo schools. The Minister also mentioned that steps will be taken to inform the parents about the protection of school children.
